When to use it

Change after every 1–3 evacuations or whenever the sight glass shows cloudy, dark, or contaminated oil. Always change before a deep-vacuum job (compressor burnout, large refrigeration system, A2L line set). Use at every vacuum pump oil change interval the OEM specifies — typically every 20–30 hours of run time for HVAC service pumps. ISO VG 46 is the industry-standard viscosity; verify your pump's spec sheet, but most HVAC vacuum pumps call for this exact grade.

Why synthetic instead of mineral pump oil

Synthetic oil resists oxidation, holds viscosity at high pump temperatures, and absorbs significantly less moisture than mineral. The result: deeper vacuum, 3–5× longer oil life, and reduced pump wear. Mineral oil starts breaking down within a few hours of operation — synthetic holds for dozens. Mineral foams during deep pulls and caps your achievable vacuum at ~1,000 microns; synthetic with low vapor pressure goes below 100 microns on a clean system.
